Malevolent March: Day 15

For the month of March, I'm going to try something new for the blog, so every day I am going to spotlight a different villain from comic books, movies, TV, etc. It's mostly going to be my all-time favorite villains, with some crazy random ones thrown in there for good measure, so check back every day to see the newest villain in Malevolent March!

Today's villain is a souless, ruthless automaton who only wants the destruction of all carbon based life-forms so he can replace us with robots patterned after himself and his own twisted family. He is one of the Avengers greatest villains, due in part to his being created by a founding member of the team. He is Ultron! Hit the jump.

Ultron

Background: Created accidentally by Hank Pym in an experiment to create artificial intelligence, Ultron's brain waves were patterned after Pym's own brain, but somewhere along the way Ultron became evil and lost all of Pym's morals and positive traits but kept his intelligence. Ultron now seeks to wipe out all organic life on Earth and the Universe. In Ultron Unlimited by Kurt Busiek and George Perez, Ultron wipes out an entire country, killing all of the inhabitants of Slorenia before the Avengers arrive to lay the smackdown on his robotic ass. But you can't keep a good (evil) robot down, as Ultron returned and took over Tony Stark's body in the first arc of Mighty Avengers, before heading into space and using the Phalanx to conquer the Kree empire in Annihlation: Conquest. Both times, though, Ultron was soundly defeated but you can count on Ultron returning sooner or later to menace the Marvel Universe.

Great Moments of Ultron:
